Access to Work Support for Adults with ADHD

If you’re an adult with ADHD and finding work challenging, you may be entitled to funded support through the government’s Access to Work scheme.

Peter offers both one-to-one ADHD coaching and workplace assessments — and these services can be fully funded through Access to Work.

What Is Access to Work?

Access to Work is a UK government programme designed to help people with health conditions or neurodivergence succeed in the workplace.

You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to apply.

The scheme is available to:

  • Employees
  • Self-employed professionals
  • People starting a new job

Funding can cover up to £62,900 per year, depending on individual needs.

What Can It Fund?

Support is tailored to you and your role. Funding may include:

  • One-to-one ADHD coaching
  • Training for your manager or wider team
  • Assistive technology and specialist software
  • Practical adjustments such as noise-cancelling headphones
  • Flexible working arrangements

Applying does not affect any other benefits you receive.

If you apply within six weeks of starting a new job, any equipment funded through the scheme belongs to you — not your employer.

How the Process Works

  1. Apply – Submit your Access to Work application.
  2. Assessment – Your needs are discussed with an adviser.
  3. Funding Approval – A support package is agreed.
  4. Support Begins – Coaching or training starts.
  5. Administration Managed – We help handle the necessary paperwork.
